We also had a division of 5 Women&#8217;s teams. Still a far cry from the massive and affluent leagues running across the channel.<br \/>\n<strong>Premiair Solution<\/strong>s had kindly donated prize money to the respective champions but this was not a factor in the increased entry as this was not made public.<br \/>\n<strong>Ryecroft<\/strong> took the Men&#8217;s First Division championships edging <strong>Kin Ryu<\/strong> by just three points having beaten them in the first match of the day 3-2 so close was the margin. <strong>Kumo<\/strong> took the third spot and the bronze medals.<br \/>\nIn the Men&#8217;s Second division, <strong>Black Dog<\/strong> won all their fixtures by the narrowest of margins 3-2 to secure the title and promotion to Division One next year.<br \/>\nThe real drama of the day was left to the ladies as <strong>Comberton B<\/strong> and <strong>Kin Ryu<\/strong> finished level on 9 points, equal of fights won and lost and level on contest points scored. Under the rules in such a tie, a weight band was drawn out of a &#8216;hat&#8217; and two ladies had to fight a sudden death fight. <strong>Comberton B<\/strong> prevailed to take the title and the prize money.<br \/>\nWe are striving to increase the League to four men&#8217;s divisions and two ladies divisions as we bid to provide tiered development for adult judo.<\/p>\n<p>Next years Team League event will be held in May and the progress depends on the clubs supporting this effort.
